Creator and Influencer Council of the Philippines launches, calls for industry to use influence for good

(Philippines), (21 July, 2020) – The Creator and Influencer Council of the Philippines (CICP), an organization that aims to empower creators, influencers, marketing professionals and brands to become best-in-class in marketing, content creation and business, was formally launched today.

The event also doubled as a virtual induction ceremony for the CICP Founding Board of Directors, as well as its first general membership meeting, with the theme “Rise: Elevating the Content Creation and Influencer Marketing Industry.”

Keynote speaker and inducting officer Department of Tourism Secretary Berna Romulo-Puyat said, “Without a doubt, the Philippines tourism industry has benefited greatly from the work of the country’s many content creators and influencers.

“With the growing clout of individual content creators and influencers, creating an organization that brings them all together is an idea whose time has finally come. Through the CICP, we hope to see the members behind this emerging industry take their craft even further…. The content you create has the power to inspire, motivate and empower people—just what we need in times like the present,” Romulo-Puyat added.

In response, CICP President Jim Guzman said, “We hope to lead, nurture and elevate the industry, laying the groundwork on setting the gold standard in influencer marketing and ensure a healthy ecosystem among its members and stakeholders. We are all very excited in uniting the
industry towards the pursuit of excellence. With capable team members from the creator and influencer to the brand and agency side, I am confident of the purpose and value that it will bring.”
